Tuition/Fees

For three weeks, SongFest will be your home away from home, school away from school, and so much more! The experience you will have is priceless.

Costs

ALL INCLUSIVE FEE – tuition, housing, meals, linens*
Single Occupancy:
  $5,900; Double Occupancy:  $5,400 (shared bath for both)
APPLICATION FEE: $40
EARLY BIRD APPLICATION FEE: $25 (DUE FEB 15)

*Early Arrivals and Departures are possible for an additional charge.

Payment

A non-refundable $700 housing fee deposit (which will be credited to the balance of fees) is due and must be received two weeks after written acceptance into the program.

Tuition balance is due in full – April 1, 2025

A partial refund of $1000 will be given on housing/meals if notified IN WRITING and received by March 25, 2025. After March 25, no refunds will be given on any portion of the fees (tuition/housing/meals), including the non-refundable $700 deposit.

Work Study

Two work-study positions are available. If interested in work-study please include a letter with your administrative skills and two references.

Scholarships & Financial Aid

Scholarship Policy

Please know that scholarships are very limited. With very few exceptions, scholarship decisions are based on a combination of need and merit except for the four Brown Loranger full fellowships’ which are merit based.

To be considered for any scholarship assistance by the Scholarship Committee, except for the Art Song Prize and Brown Loranger which is on merit alone you must submit ALL required documents with or before your application. Any award will be included with your acceptance letter.

Please note that deposit deadlines stated in acceptance letters will not be extended if scholarship applications have not been completed. If you apply for a scholarship please follow all the directions outlined below.

1) Personal letter requesting a scholarship. Please include any summer study grants available to you from your school or any other grants you have applied for.  Should you receive a grant from any institution of higher learning or nonprofit organization without disclosing this to SongFest when applying any SongFest scholarship funds will be rescinded.

CANADIAN SINGERS & PIANIST APPLICANTS: The Art Song Foundation from Canada generously supports Canadian citizens’ assistance to attend an ART SONG SUMMER FESTIVAL. SongFest is on the approved list and many singers and pianists have received financial aid in previous years. If you apply for this grant, you must disclose this information with your application.

2) Parent AND Student Tax Return(s) (IRS Form 1040) or International Salary Documentation for 2022 or 2023 in USD (equivalent to the US 1040 for your country) for the most recent tax year available. (1st 2 pages only).  We require your parent(s) return even if you are not claimed as a dependent.

3) If you are enrolled in a School or University and are receiving financial aid of any kind - merit or need - a copy of the award letter from the institution must be submitted with or before your YapTracker application.

SongFest Fellowship, Scholarship and Prize Opportunities

  • The Art Song Prize – This prize will offer 2 young artists (1 singer and 1 pianist) to work closely with internationally renowned pianist Roger Vignoles and other senior piano faculty. Both pianist and singer will receive $1,000 cash prize.

    Opportunity: Perform on the Brown Loranger Fellowship recital program.  

  • The Brown Loranger Full Merit Fellowships – 4  singers will be chosen for a full fellowship – $5400 (double occupancy).

    Opportunity: Featured in a recital with a faculty pianist. 

  • Young Artist Fellows – $1,000 partial tuition awarded to 2 outstanding singers in the Young Artist or Studio Artist Program.

    Opportunity: Featured in a noon concert.
